Eco-friendly by design: reducing carbon footprints with Fabox

In a world where environmental impact is front of mind, the events industry is under pressure to do more with less. Carbon-neutral events are becoming a priority, and stakeholders expect organisers to demonstrate concrete green initiatives. That means minimising waste, optimising transport and making sustainable choices at every stage of a project. Fabox was conceived to help meet those goals while still delivering stylish, functional spaces that delight audiences.

Why sustainability matters for events

Corporate and public events leave a sizeable footprint. Travel, construction and energy consumption all contribute to emissions, and venues are now being scrutinised for their environmental credentials. Choosing eco-friendly infrastructure doesn’t just satisfy ESG targets – it lowers operating costs and sends a powerful message about your brand’s commitment to the planet.

Smarter logistics, lower emissions

Traditional cabins and containers are bulky: only two will fit on a standard truck. Fabox’s foldable modular system allows up to eight units to be transported on a single lorry. That means fewer journeys, less fuel and a smaller carbon footprint before the build has even begun. Once on site, the units are craned into place and unfold in under an hour, so crews spend less time idling heavy equipment and more time adding value.

Our modules don’t require foundations, thanks to optional Layher platforms that level uneven ground. This eliminates the need for concrete or invasive ground works, further reducing environmental impact and making restoration straightforward once the event has finished.

Built to be used again and again

Single-use structures generate enormous waste. Fabox is engineered with durable materials that can be reused for years. Panels, floors and roofs are insulated and weatherproof, keeping interiors comfortable in all seasons. When your activation is over, the modules fold back down and are stored or transported for the next project. You can even stack units three high or link them side by side to create new configurations, meaning the same kit can serve a VIP terrace one weekend and an information hub the next.

Energy-smart design

Comfort shouldn’t come at a cost to the environment. Fabox units are designed to be energy efficient from the ground up. High-density insulation locks in heat during winter and blocks solar gain in summer, while double-glazed doors, optional door curtains and low-energy LED lighting minimise energy loss. Optional HVAC systems are sized for efficiency, keeping interiors between 18 °C and 24 °C without over-running heaters or air conditioning.

Sustainable materials and finishes

Our structures use recyclable materials wherever possible. External cladding and interior finishes can be chosen for sustainability as well as style – think FSC-certified timber flooring, low-VOC paint, and LED façades. Because modules are self-supporting, there’s no need for additional scaffolding or supports, which reduces overall material use.

Responsible branding, lasting impact

Sustainability and marketing go hand in hand. By choosing eco-friendly infrastructure, you’re broadcasting your values to visitors and stakeholders. Fabox makes it easy to switch graphics and finishes between events, so you can rebrand without replacing the structure itself. And because each unit is modular, you can scale up or down as needed, avoiding wasted space and energy.
