Overview
Fabox was commissioned by Harkin Associates to deliver a high-quality temporary broadcasting studio for Leeds United at Elland Road. The brief was to create a professional TV studio for live matchday coverage, designed offsite and installed with minimal disruption.
Offsite Build
The studio was prefabricated in our Milton Keynes workshop using acoustic steel and reinforced fibre boards, offering excellent soundproofing and structural strength. This modular approach meant we could deliver a finished product quickly, without compromising on quality.
We fitted the front of the studio with Schüco plexiglass, chosen for its slim profile and excellent thermal insulation. It keeps the internal space energy efficient while offering a clean and modern look.
On-Site Installation
The studio was installed pitch-side on the south side of Elland Road, directly opposite the Revie Stand — a prime location for capturing the atmosphere of the game.
Once in place, our electricians installed commando sockets, a tidy comms cupboard for cabling, and adjustable overhead spotlights for optimal broadcast lighting. The exterior was finished with a high-gloss, durable vinyl wrap.
Interior Finish
The design team decorated the interior with a navy blue carpet and sky blue walls, creating a clean and professional environment for on-camera work. We added LUFC branding and the white rose of York to the exterior to reflect the club’s identity.
Ready for Kick-Off
The broadcasting studio was completed just in time for Leeds United’s Premier League fixture against Crystal Palace, which they won 1–0. Although designed as a temporary structure, the quality of the build means it could easily remain in place long-term.
